Good Morning to all children, parents and carers
The Nursery Home Learning page is now being updated regularly and all parents/carers should have received an email from Mrs Sugden regarding sharing home learning activities and achievements. The nursery team will be adding fortnightly activities to the nursery home learning page however these are only a guide and we encourage parents to share any news with us about your child’s learning. Unfortunately we are unable to add videos to the photo gallery. Your child’s keyworker is happy to speak to you regarding learning targets so please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Sugden who will arrange a telephone call.

Over the last few weeks the children have been learning about some of the work people do in our community. The post office has been a focus this week as we have delivered our santa letters to the elf. We have also created a post office in nursery to develop role play, literacy and mathematics.
The children were investigating water changing from one form to another (Ice, water, steam) and relating these to everyday experiences. The children were encouraged to observe their environment and use words to describe, explore , make simple predictions, ask questions and demonstrate creative thinking
Nursery are holding Parent/ Carer appointments this week. Please fill out a time slot on the register table or speak to the nursery team to arrange a time with your child’s keyworker. This is a time for you to share any achievements or concerns and have a look at all their wonderful learning. If you are unable to come in to nursery we are happy for you to take your child’s profile home to look at together.
Following a request from a nursery parent we have been focusing learning within the nursery around keeping safe. The nursery children have been learning to assess and mange risk to protect themselves and others. We have been supporting children’s knowledge of how to stay safe when out and about.
Nursery have been learning about different roles in the world of work within our community. We have had visits from the fire service, police and local hotels. The children are experiencing opportunities to develop skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work.
Due to the recent adverse weather, we have taken the decision to cancel Nursery and P1-P7 Sports Day which was due to be held tomorrow.
This event has now been rescheduled to Thursday 20th June 2019.
