Parents Appointments

A wee reminder that Parents Appointments are Wednesday and Thursday this week, from 3.00pm.  We look forward to seeing you all at your allocated time.  If you require a different appointment or can no longer make your appointment time, please contact the school office on 01463 231837.

Please use the main Reception entrance to enter the school for your appointment.  Tea/coffee will be available on arrival.

Learning Profiles

Today your child will take home a very important document for you to view and discuss, their Learning Profile. It contains examples of your child’s learning, assessments, targets and photographs. It is essentially a snapshot of their learning experiences within St. Joseph’s RC Primary School.

The Learning Journey tells you what they are learning, where they are in their learning and often their next steps. Please take time to discuss the Learning Profile with your child and enter your feedback on the sheets within.

Conversation Cue Cards can be viewed here. These support conversations you have with your child when reading through and sharing their Profile. The questions can also be used when completing sections that require parental feedback and the parents voice bubble in the Key Assessment Task. We look forward to reading the feedback you share about your child’s progress.

Please take great care of this document as it is a one-off, containing work your child is proud of, and must be returned to school either before or on Parents’ Afternoons.

Thank you for your partnership in this learning.

P7 School Bags

Over the coming months, P7 will receive important information home in their school bags regarding their residential trip, secondary school transition events and other important events/duties relating to them leaving St Joseph’s this summer.

Parents/Carers, please check school bags regularly for information letters and forms and return information requested by the school by required deadlines

Thank you.

Annual Data Check Forms

Annual Data Check forms were initially sent home with children in October 2018 and to date, Miss Green has confirmed there are still some outstanding.  If your child receives another Annual Data Check form home with them this week, can we please ask that these are checked, completed and returned to the school office by Friday 15th March 2019.

It is extremely important that we ensure the information we hold for your child is up to date and correct.

Parent Council

We are going to trial having a table in the playground one week before our Parent Council meetings to give parents/guardians an opportunity to identify members of the Parent Council and discuss any items they would like included on the Agenda.  Please feel free to come forward and have a chat to us.

Parent Council members will be in the playground on Tuesday 19th March 2019 between 3.30pm-4.00pm for children being collected from the Multi-Sports club and Homework Club then again on Wednesday 20th March between 2.30pm-3.00pm.

The next Parent Council meeting will be held in the Cameron Suite on Tuesday 26th March 2019 at 3.15pm.  All welcome.

Road Safety Notice

At the Parent Council meetings, we have been discussing road safety outside the school.
As you may be aware we carried out a parking patrol and we had a site visit from the Road Safety Officer from Highland Council.
After discussions, it was decided to trial re-routing the school buses onto Huntly Street to drop off and collect the children, this way allowing better visibility for the children entering and leaving the School. We would be grateful if parents could assist us in making the area safer for all our children and avoid parking on double yellow lines and certainly not on the zigzag lines.  There will be a heightened presence from the Parking Patrol Officers to ensure safety around the school.

The trial week will commence on Monday 25th March 2019.

Thank you for your co-operation with this matter.
